I'm so jumping on the bed to Alice Cooper right now...
school's out completely...
“I have come to believe that by and large the human family all has the same secrets, which are both very telling and very important to tell. They are telling in the sense that they tell what is perhaps the central paradox of our condition - that what we hunger for perhaps more than anything else is to be known in our full humanness, and yet that is often just what we also fear more than anything else.” - Frederick Buechner

Somtimes I feel like I graduated last May. I don't know if that makes any sense. But the majority of this year has left me feeling as though I've been biding my time. I've somehow managed (yet again!) to squeeze school in after friends, events, work, music, and occassionally h&h stuff (though that too has tremendously decreased this past year).
Everyone always told me that I'd be ready to graduate when my time came, and I suppose they were right. They've always been right, and I knew it. I guess things might feel more dramatic and "heightened" if I, or a large percentage of my friends, was skipping town. But none of us really are. Sure I considered it at one point: peace corp, cruise ships, africa, etc.. but I have my whole life to do those things. Besides, I feel like it wouldn't be a matter of me "fulfilling destiny," but rather, me running away in hopes of a chance to start over. And for once in my life I see a thread of immaturity in that. For once in my life I don't feel like starting over, even with all of its benefits: anonymity, lack of responsibility, etc...
Anyhow, the end is coming. Yay, rah, go team. I might feel more... more.. something by next weekend, but until then:
3 finals and 1 presentation down...
1 final to go.
Then bye-bye Belmont....
...sorta.
